My name is Frederik K. Sørensen, and I embarked on my journey with EMS on March 28, 2022, as a CNC machinist. Little did I know that this entry point would lead me through a transformative professional evolution within the company.
My EMS journey began in April 2023, starting humbly as a welder in the workshop. However, the promise of a future career in the project department lured me in. Balancing work with a part-time education tailored for this specific role, I eagerly anticipated the opportunity to spread my wings.
My story as a full-time employee started on January 1, 2023, immediately after the successful completion of my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. As a Project Engineer, I’ve delved into various aspects of engineering, from calculations to project management.
EMS has manufactured thousands of prototypes and custom parts for all sorts of applications and industries. We create a solution across these areas of expertise and even wider than just these areas, as we can adapt and solve tasks regardless of the industry.

As my skills in the CNC machines grew, so did my role. The transition from machinist to a dual responsibility of sales and machining marked an important moment in my career. Today, I proudly serve as a Sales Technician for the Machine Shop at EMS, where every day is an exciting blend of customer engagement and project leadership.
In my current work scope, I am entrusted with the role of sales and project lead, guiding the projects I sell from inception to completion. EMS has provided me with an environment that encourages creativity and welcomes new ideas. Here, every voice matters, and innovation is not just appreciated but celebrated.
A typical day at EMS involves looking for new, promising customers while assisting existing clients with their CNC Machined spare part projects. The most fulfilling aspect of my role is witnessing the positive impact of our fast delivery times on specialised machined parts – a testament to the efficiency of our CNC Machine shop.
One of the defining aspects of EMS’s culture is its openness to change. The company has invested in a program called “Vi Kultur,” fostering an atmosphere where every employee, from apprentices to management, is recognised as vital to achieving EMS’s goals. This inclusive approach allows for the exploration of new potential within each team member.
Reflecting on my journey, EMS has been the platform where I transformed my passion for sales and project leadership into a thriving career. The challenges I encountered, from mastering new CNC machines and software to understanding the variations of CLIMAX Machines, have shaped me into a resilient and adaptable professional.
Currently, my focus is on learning all sides of sales and project leadership within the Machine Shop and Service Department. My goal is to provide innovative solutions that guide companies toward their objectives while proudly representing EMS.
In the future, I envision myself in the role of a sales engineer as the bridge connecting our customers’ project goals to successful execution, all under the esteemed standards of EMS. The journey so far has been rewarding, and I am excited about the countless possibilities that lie ahead as we continue to push the boundaries of precision and excellence at EMS.

Transitioning into the project department opened up a space of new learning experiences assisted by exceptional coworkers. Much of my time is dedicated to creating comprehensive job packages for the workshop. This involves everything from work drawings and material procurement to customer and workshop contacts, project estimation, and coordination.
In the spirit of problem-solving and collaboration, I find fulfilment in contributing to my team. EMS, undergoing a transformative phase, reflects a company that has experienced rapid growth. The resulting cross-departmental relationships are steadily growing, supported by the VI-culture initiative. It’s a promising job, and I anticipate the company getting the rewards in due time.
Gratitude fills me as my superiors have honoured every promise made, offering unwavering support for my growth and education, both internally and through external courses. The encouragement of teamwork, highlighted by the VI-culture, is evident throughout EMS. In my department, our visionary team lead is crafting a path for stronger relations and enhanced teamwork, promising future benefits.
Life, both professionally and personally, has presented challenges for me. However, I’ve learned to confront issues head-on, relying on intuition and addressing problems instead of sidestepping them. Proposing ideas has been met with open hearts from my superiors, fostering productive discussions and mutual understanding.

My ambition is to get the role of a Project Manager in the future. I am committed to consistently bringing ideas to the table, contributing valuable insights, and, most importantly, being a committed and supportive colleague. Drawing from prior experience as a blacksmith, I’ve easily combined this knowledge with my engineering skills. Challenges and conflicts, integral to personal and professional growth, greet me each day, making each moment a new opportunity for triumph.
